Welcome to My Personal Page
AIDS Walk, AIDS Walk! It's time for the AIDS Walk! Time to raise money and awareness for a cause I’ve been involved with since 2011. HIV/AIDS can affect anyone, regardless of sex, gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, income level............HIV/AIDS does not discriminate. I wish people didn't discriminate. Those affected by HIV/AIDS are our friends, our family, our co-workers, our church leaders, our political leaders, our doctors........they are us and we are them. We are all human and we should all be humane and support those fighting this disease.
The money The AIDS Walk raises goes to agencies who serve our community. These funds go to a DEFA fund (Gregory R. Powers Direct Emergency Financial Assistance Fund). DEFA pays for emergency expenses for Hoosiers living with HIV/AIDS who are at or below the poverty level. Last year, DEFA funds were used to cover utility payments, keep a family from becoming homeless, doctors’ visits, prescription drug refills, bus passes, food assistance, and even to replace a battery-powered wheelchair. We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for your support, regardless of it being monetary or not. We need you out there supporting those affected, educating those with misconceptions, getting yourself tested. The best way to stop this disease is with education. Know how transmission works. Know your worth. Know your status. Know I am here………… to help, for support, to provide resources, to educate. Know I am here. <3 Nicole
